Dear Dr. Klein,
Thank you – for so much!
As an avid cyclist, a new bicycle brought out the worst of my chronic neck
condition in May 2006. After a second episode of excruciating neck pain in as
many months, requiring time in the ER and out of work, I came to Dr David Klein
at the recommendation of a trusted friend. I had no idea just much more I had to
gain!
We discovered that not only was my neck out of alignment, but many vertebrae,
down the full length of my spine were skewed, displaced and maladjusted.
I’m an Aerospace Engineer working within the US forces on behalf of the
Australian Defence Force, and therefore a man of science and reason. I wanted
to know exactly what Dr Klein proposed to do to this framework that supports my
function before he did it. The explanations and education he and his staff
provided over the next few visits were clear and concise, both logical and
intuitive, and were couched in terms that made me comfortable with the
expertise available in his practice.
It was a leap of faith, to let someone near my neck and spine.
Throughout the first few visits, the adjustments were incremental and
exploratory, to cater for my personal caution and individual requirements.
On the fourth visit, the magic happened, with a subtle, barely perceptible click
at the top vertebrae. The pain and tension was gone, the fog lifted, and I felt
better than I had in years. I’m in my mid-thirties, and that’s important at this
age.
A litany of ills I’d grown accustomed to – frequent colds and flu, failing
eyesight, an inexplicable ringing in the ears in the quiet of night, overwhelming
fatigue at all hours of the day – suddenly had became noticeable by their absence.
I quickly noticed an increased ability to focus on complex coordination and
technical tasks, the pace of my reading accelerated, as did my ability to
comprehend and recall information to a much greater extent. As an orchestral
viola player, I noticed a marked improvement in my ability to sight-read and
distinguish individual voices in the symphony. At parties, I can once again
pick out a voice amongst the background. As a military commander, I deal better
with stress and critical decision-making. One day my wife told me that although
it was a long way to go for the treatment (I live an hour’s cycle each way), she
insisted that I continue – since it had made such a difference to our home life
as well. I’ve had only one neck episode in the last 15 months – it was minor,
and we recovered quickly. I’ve not had an illness since beginning treatment.
Over the course of treatment, we’ve rebuilt my spine to the point where I feel
great. Every visit has been pleasant, supportive, pain-free and positive
experience. Every day is better, pain-free and with a zest for life I’d forgotten.
I told Dr Klein one day that we’d re-lit “the fire inside” – that driving
initiative to achieve and enjoy life to the full.
Dr Klein, you’ve made a profound difference to my life, and I can’t thank you
enough.
Best regards,
Andrew Scholten
