My Story Continued Part 3
... “Neck Dave” to distinguish me from the other people who worked there.

I worked as a lifeguard for many summers in Laguna Beach, and enjoyed the emergency medicine parts of the job tremendously. I decided that I wanted to go into health care. One fall I went back to college and decided to start the Physical Therapy program. I had to do a lot of volunteer work, and worked in a hospital in Granada Hills doing physical therapy work.

I was really excited because I thought they would have something to help with my neck. Unfortunately, nothing in the physical therapy department ever helped me. One day I was speaking to the head of the Physical Therapy department. His name was Rick. Rick was a top notch physical therapist, and lectured at conferences around the country, as well as running this department at the hospital. Rick said to me, if he was in my shoes, he would become a chiropractor instead. I figured if that was his opinion, I better check it out. I did a little research, and decided that it sounded like a great thing.

Here is the kicker, I had still never been to a chiropractor, and still had this horrible neck, these terrible migraines, trouble breathing, and without even knowing it, had decreased vision, hearing, and to put it mildly, a noisy head!

The first week of chiropractic college, each of the new students get assigned to an upper quarter intern, so the intern can get some more practice.
